Our technology is designed to produce renewable energy in a safe and low-cost manner.

Developed solution puts the owner and operator perspective in focus. It is based on more than 20 years of experience in developing and operating wind farms in Germany.

A full-scale turbine was erected in 2015, and is basis for further technical and commercial development.

Our Vision

Our vision is to develop wind energy to a low cost and in a predictable way where we will reduce risk.

We develop solutions based on experience in developing operation of onshore and offshore wind farms – for both these markets.

In the end we want to reduce Levelised Cost of Energy (LCoE), taking capital cost including installation and Operation and Maintenance into account.

Knowing that risk is also a cost driver, we also want to reduce the risk.

SkyWind 3.4MW

History

Based on experience in operating 250 different turbines within the company group of GEO, SkyWind has developed a turbine with a different perspective than the traditional wind turbines. Consequent focus of the development was to achieve low cost of energy. The total life span emphasizing of installation, operation and maintenance has been taken into account.

SkyWind Gmbh has erected a full-scale turbine, which is working according to expectations within an intensive test period.

SkyWind will develop the promissing technology also further in the direction of offshore wind.

Building on Proven Success

Drawing on our experience with the SW 3.4, we are now developing the next generation of wind turbines in the 6MW and 8MW classes. Our innovative approach follows two paths:

  • Single Rotor Innovation: advanced 3-blade turbines equipped with our patented lifting system.
  • Twin Rotor Breakthrough: a unique dual-turbine design with a central yaw system, allowing two SW 3.4 units to operate on a single tower.

With these solutions, SkyWind is pushing the boundaries of efficiency, flexibility, and performance in modern wind energy.

Licensable Designs, Tailored to Your Needs

SkyWind independently develops various concepts for wind turbines. These can be purchased under license and customized to meet customer needs. Furthermore, SkyWind is open to new concepts that we can develop on behalf of our clients using our expertise. SkyWind can also engage in specific areas of development for its clients and provide support with its excellent knowledge in the field of multibody simulation (MBS) and finite element analysis (FEA).
